Following her initial victory over Corr, Cimarelli gained the hot seat with a 7-1 win over Candi Rego and a 7-2 win over Julie Kelly. Kelly had just sent Supadra Boonpasook west 7-1.
Corr, in the meantime, began her five-match trip back to the finals with a shut-out over Cheryl Squire and a 7-3 win over Liz Ford that set her up to meet Boonpasook. Rhio Anne-Flores, who’s been earning a name for herself on the Tri-State Tour, got by Kim Meyer and tour director Linda Shea for the right to meet Rego. Corr advanced to the quarterfinals with a 7-2 win over Boonpasook, as Anne-Flores joined her with a 7-3 victory over Rego. Corr dropped Anne-Flores into fourth place and then defeated Kelly in the semifinals 7-3.
Unlike the previous battle among the winners’ side final eight, when Cimarelli battled to hill-hill and then won, Corr took an early 3-0 lead in the finals that she never relinquished. Cimarelli won the fourth rack, and Corr took the fifth. Cimarelli made it 4-2, but it was her last rack, as Corr went on to win the final five.
Corr came back from a defeat against Treadway-Cimarelli to best her in the finals and take the top spot on the J. Pechauer NorthEast Women’s Tour stop on the weekend of April 18-19.
